Conscious Connected
Breathwork group session
A CCB group session opens up a shared experiential space that differs in important ways from the one-to-one setting. The underlying breathing technique is the same as in individual sessions: nose-mouth breathing (inhaling through the nose, exhaling through the mouth), a wave-like breathing movement through the abdomen and chest, and a continuous, connected breath without pauses. The duration and overall structure are also comparable. As in individual sessions, elements such as shared breath retention, vocalisation, and other supportive practices – including targeted body-based interventions – may be integrated depending on the process.
The group functions not only as a framework, but as a collective field of resonance: breathing rhythms, emotional processes, and inner dynamics can amplify, mirror, or regulate one another (often referred to as co-regulation of the nervous system). Within this shared breathing process, individual experiences do not arise in isolation, but are embedded in a collective dynamic. Many participants experience this form of breathwork as supportive, connective, and inspiring. At the same time, the process remains individual. Each person follows their own breath, their own inner pace, and the experiences that arise.
A group session can be particularly beneficial if you wish to experience breathwork in a shared setting or feel supported by the dynamics of a group. Participation in a group setting is also more cost-effective.

Effects of CCB in
a group setting
In a group setting, the potential effects of CCB are likewise based on the same physiological and psychological processes of connected breathing. A more detailed explanation of these mechanisms can be found on the page “What is Conscious Connected Breathwork?”
Conscious Connected Breathwork may be supportive in the following areas, among others:
-
feelings of inner exhaustion or low energy – often accompanied by an increase in vitality, clarity, and a sense of inner orientation
-
ongoing stress or inner restlessness – through supporting nervous system regulation and emotional integration
-
difficulties in perceiving the body or breath consciously – through a deeper and more differentiated awareness of body and self
-
emotionally challenging themes or inner conflicts – through facilitated access to deeper (implicit) layers of experience and processing
-
sleep difficulties or reduced capacity for recovery – through supporting physiological relaxation and regenerative processes
-
the wish for personal development or spiritual practice – through the potential experience of expanded states of consciousness
In addition, the shared practice can give rise to further qualities. Many people report that processes unfold or deepen more easily in a group setting, facilitating access to inner experience. The shared breathing process can deepen the sense of connection. For those who find it difficult to engage with emotional processes on their own, the group setting can provide a structured and supportive framework.
Note: CCB is an intensive breathing technique and may not be suitable for everyone at all times. Please refer to the contraindications listed on the page “What is Conscious Connected Breathwork?”
Structure of a group session
A group session typically lasts between 90 and 120 minutes. It begins with a shared introduction to the breathing technique, followed by a preparatory attunement to the breathing journey through selected yoga, fascia, and breathing exercises. The breathing journey then begins, usually in a lying position, and lasts around 60 minutes. During this phase, I work with carefully curated music sequences that structure and support the breathing process in a wave-like manner. Afterwards, there is a period of integration and rest. Depending on the setting, there may also be space for a brief group sharing. As in other formats, all elements are explained in advance and clearly guided, creating a safe and well-held environment.
